Following a hugely successful year, including a #1 EP on the iTunes Country Albums Chart, nation-wide recognition from the BBC, a main stage slot at Wychwood Festival and supporting Rufus Wainwright at the Symphony Hall, Demi is set to release her brand new single ‘Learn To Love’ on Wednesday.
‘Learn To Love’ was written in the period following the tragic passing of Christina Grimmie in Orlando, as well as the horrific attack at the Pulse Nightclub and the mass killings in France. The song deals with issues of war, gun crime and hatred around the world. Following a year of such turbulence and terrible incidents, the song carries a very powerful and emotional message close to Demi’s heart:
“Being a singer/songwriter myself, and being in a position of doing signings after gigs, I was deeply hurt by the events and wrote this song to simply question why we can’t all just get along and “Learn to Love” because the world would be a much nicer place if that was the case”.
In light of this, some of the proceeds will be donated to a foundation in aid of Christina Grimmie’s memory.
